4G Technology Emerging. Mobile networks. While the majority dreams of 3G technology, some of the technology promoters go further and are looking for 4G technology development. Among them are mobile network operators which are fast moving towards 4G technology. Some think it is a tactical move to increase usage of the cell phones in a way failed by 3G technology. What Is It All About?4G features a collection of technologies and protocols to enable the highest throughput at the lowest cost. 4G technology is currently developing to offer higher speeds meant to bring to users greater comfort and more possibilities. The main achievement of 4G technology is the increase of data downloading and uploading speeds. This will make it possible to provide the cell phones with similar broadband Internet access as the one on home PCs. In other words it will launch an era of high-speed media access. According to Samsung , the highest download speeds promised by the operators will enable your cell phone to download a movie in 5.6 seconds and send 100 songs in 2.4 seconds. It is a technology of 2010! Network operators such as Japan's NTT DoCoMo and Samsung are testing 4G communications at 100 Mbit/s. The 4G commercial mobile networks are planed to be released by 2010. NTT DoCoMo will built one in Japan and Samsung aims to set one on Jeju Island in South Korea. 4G Technology Features:
Concerning the multimedia support, Ali Tabassi (vice president of Sprint Nextel Corporation - Samsung) said, "4G is to deliver high-speed broadband for data and visual centric information. Everything before 4G is voice-centric". It's All About Money3G networks wasn't successful enough neither to cover the expenditures nor to generate extra revenue. Nothing guarantees that 4G networks will succeed! But providers consider that videos, photos and Internet access services will make up for 3G's voice call poor revenue. At global technological conference which will take place in October 2007, the spectrum for 4G networks will be announced. The commercial launching is scheduled for 2010. Lee Ki-Tae the president of Samsung's telecommunication networks considers that 'after 2010, 4G will become the mobile service that embraces everything'! This is a quite challenging affirmation, but we would be the ones to benefit if it turns to be true. Still considering the fact that technologies never stop developing and surprising us, it is quite obvious that 5G is the possible reality to replace 4G. |
