Over 10 Millions Motherboards Sold in January 2007

Financial statistics for January 2007 shows that this month was very profitable for manufacturers of PC motherboards. The four leading Taiwanese MB manufacturers - ASUSTeK, Elitegroup Computer System (ECS), Micro-Star International (MSI) and GIGABYTE - have supplied about 10 millions motherboards this month.

The leader at this point is ASUSTeK. The company sold about 5.45 millions system boards. This index is twice as higher as the one of the company with second highest index - ECS (Elitegroup Computer System), which supplied about 2.13 millions motherboards. In case of MSI and GIGABYTE, the numbers are not so impressive. We speak about 1.3 and 1.1 millions motherboards.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to above mentioned numbers of ASUSTeK sales in the beginning of 2007, the company had also the highest growth index in the end of 2006, which is of 17%. The ECS sales, on the other hand, have decreased by 1.46%. However, the specialists say that the end of the year is the peak of any sales, thus rather insignificant results at the beginning of the year should not be treated as negative overall.
